The easiest way to read someone's aura is to start out trying to read their physical aura. In order to do this, there are a few prepratory steps:

Prepratory Work
Cleanse yourself
Meditate
Opening Prayer

The Reading
Reading
Feedback
Ending Prayer

A Healing
Healing through the aura
Healing through prayer
Healing via a distance
Ending Prayer

The act of self cleansing is an important preparation lest we as readers and/or healers expose the person we are attempting to read or heal to our own shortcomings; for always there is an exchange of energies when two or more forces come together.

Meditation is the act whereby we relax both body, mind and soul so as to be intune with our higher selves. This is an ongoing process and achieved by daily meditative practices. But when it comes to reading the aura of another it is also helpful to meditate just prior to any session in which we attempt a reading. What we are doing here is to form a trinity between body, Mind and Soul with the uppermost part of that trianglular base being our higher Mind and Soul whilst we become the bottom of that apex. We form a downward facing triangle, for example; and in essense attempting to pull down energy from the above in a downward flowing motion with God as the center.

*          *

      *

Creating an Opening Prayer is a sure way to open oneself both to the God forces within/without, our higher selves as well as to the person we are attempting to read or heal. We open a gateway to the other side and as we do, we achieve a sense of control over the process. In effect, the opening prayer here becomes as it were the upward facing trinity, joining the person getting the reading to us at the bottom of the trianglular base whilst our higher self forms the uppermost part of this second triangle and a way to God who is always at the center.

      *

*          *

When we combine the triangles we are optimizing the free flow of energies between two worlds giving us the greater chance of success. So that, as we give a reading, depending of course upon how we work, how we sense, how we feel, how we call for or move energy, etc., we are reading ourselves as well as reading the other to whom we are attempting a reading and in some cases a healing. We become the tool... the instrument. But always we are reading ourselves by way of our higher self. In a way, we are giving out a psychic diagnosis of what is transpiring between us and the person being read or healed. We are interpreting the flow and exchange of energies. So that, in a manner of speaking all we are doing is to read how the energy of the other is effecting us or effecting our own auric field.

Feedback is important because it validates what is taking place. It allows for an exchange of ideas and feelings between the reader and the person being read. And unless we are expert at what we are doing it is advisable simply to ask the person if they can confirm or deny what we are sensing rather then for us to haphazardly project our feelings or interpretations onto them. This free flow of ideas not only helps the person being read but also becomes an invaluable tool for the reader. For each reading adds to our database of knowledge. We get to know ourselves and how we work, for example. And if we take notes a journal of testimony will begin to surface and one that can aid us in any future reading. We can also utilize that database for future healings as well.

If we are so disposed to the idea of healing; we can then take the knowlege we have ascertained and then move to the next step of attempting a healing. This can be done in many different ways. Matter of fact, for every healer and for every person there might be whole combinations of ways to achieve this. Most often we rely upon our God and our higher selves to achieve a healing. This is why meditation is the foundation for any psychic or spiritual reading.

Edgar said to us that we shall be as an open door; a door that can open and no one can close; and a door that can close and no one can open. This statement allows us to be in control of the reading. We open that door with an opening prayer; and we close down the reading (or healing) with a closing prayer. There is another reason also. By having an opening and ending prayer we attempt to sever the connection made between us and the person we have been working with. This has a two-fold blessing because it places borders and boundaries that clearly ought to be there. We walk away from the reading being ourselves; and they walk away from the reading remaining themselves. The two energy fields are not mingled and if per chance they were, this is the vehicle by which each can return to a state of normalcy.

What this means also, is that in effect, we are also acknowleding that a healing does not come from us but instead is attributable to God and to our higher self; we being the instrument, the channel by which these mysteries transpire.

I think it is important for us to realize that there is a definate difference between a reading and a healing.  A reading is merely a way and means to diagnose and interprete the energy flow between two people but without making any changes to either person. In a healing we attempt to change the energy of the other, hopefully without it effecting us as we do. This is why it is vital that we work through our higher self not only to interpret but to call down healing energies. By doing this, we are not, (may I repeat) we are not utilizing our own energy to attempt a healing; but are only acting as a channel; the connector by which energy from above can flow downard through us to the person in need of a healing.

Still there is another way, and the way. We can form a link between us and the person getting a reading via our auras---yes; but when it comes to the healing itself, we can think of the healing as a separate phase in which we institute or invoke a second opening prayer and simply ask God to send healing energy to the person in need of a healing. In doing this we bypass our physical selves and are in essence asking that God send energy directly to the other. Think of it as a straight vertical line of energy instead of as a triangle. Or, you can contact your higher self and through that vehicle ask it to contact the higher self of the person in need of a healing. This is the best way and should not be considered an invasion because in reality all we are doing is to send a message saying: Hey, someone needs you. Now, if the truth be told, any of us can do this of ourself or of our own higher self; but as life would have it, many of us either don't know that we can or don't know how to listen to what is being said. If we did, in many cases we would not be ill to begin with. Yet not always, for always there are illnessess beyond our control.

Before you attempt a reading,

First get yourself a sheet of graph paper. Then draw a blank image or outline of a person and place that image at the center of that graph paper so that the square boxes remain visible. If you can't draw, the easiest way to achieve this is simply to cut out a photo or magazine image and then to trace its outline onto your graph paper. Next, photo copy several of these for repeated usage; so as to have the same exact image for any reading. You might also consider making two; one for a man and another for a female. This will form the basis of your ongoing database of information; information that can be used to read, diagnose and/or to heal.

Now for the hard part,

Try to find someone who would be willing to work with you and pair off with them; one person becoming the reader while the other the readee.

Have the person getting the reading to stand up and also ask them to close their eyes while you try to read their physical aura by merely passing your hands near to their body but without touching them.

Before you start, it might be helpful for you to place your own hands together and move them apart a few times so as to take notice of your own aura unimpeded by another's energy.

Start at the head and slowly work your way down their body; placing one hand at their back and the other in front.

You can also try moving your hands closer and then further apart as you slowly work your way down their body. Take your time and work very slowly. This is important because you want to allow enough time to feel what is happening to you. As as it does, place markers on the graph paper  and/or at least remember it and do it immediately after the reading. As an alternative, you can also ask the other person to do the same and then later on compare notes. This sort of comparison is helpful in giving much needed validation and feedback helpful to both parties.

Notice any differences such as: heat, warmth, coolness, coldness, etc. You may even feel a slight breeze or a mangetic pull. It will not be necessary for you to have an exact meaning for these variations, which usually comes with time. But it will be extremely helpful for you to simply ask the other person to verbalize along with you and for them to tell you what they are sensing internally as you move your hands to different areas of their body. Always allow them to tell you instead of you telling them. For example, it is not necessary for you and in many cases might even to be unwise to say to them, for example, oh, I feel coldness around your heart indicating to me that you are going to have  a heart attack. No no... never do something like that. Instead, simply say, I feel something here then ask them if they do as well. Wait for their feedback. And when they give it, simply accept it as it is given to you. As you become more proficient at it, then, after a time, it might be okay to give out a verbal diagnoses... but definately not while we are training ourselves to become readers.
Of course, this will also depend upon the relationship you have with the person you are working with or reading. So use your best judgements here---okay.

After you finish reading the entire body and after you as well as the other have made your markings on you graphs, perhaps the two of you could then begin to discuss your findings. Spend some time here and make comparisons and share your findings, always being respectful to the other; especially if any disagreements arise.

If a healing be attempted.... you simply repeat the process, but only this time you might physically take your right arm, hand in air and call down the Holy Spirit to work through you. Then, gently rubs your hands together in a circular motion to magnetize them. Finally, in an opening prayer add the words:  Dear God help this person and heal them; placing your hands near to the body part in need of a healing.

Note: I do not advocate physically touching anyone unless you are licensed to do so. Certainly it would be wise to ask the other person for their permission before you do. Matter of fact, it is always wise to ask at the very onset if it is okay for you to enter their aura or to read them. As always, this is a special relationship between you and the other person so please to use your own common sense.

Years ago, a friend of mine who was very good at doing health readings would always feel energy in the palm of her hands as well as through her fingertips. By way of comparison, I seemed to get in visual images via my third eye. To give you an example of what I mean: If I were attempting a healing I would see a brillant electric blue cross through my third eye and when the healing was complete I would see two blue crosses that would overlap one another becoming one cross. That visual sighting was accompanied by the inner words: It is done! And that was my cue to stop and invoke my closing prayer separating me from the other individual.

The point here being that each of us works differently and will always be working from a different set of chakras so it is important to know thyself.

Now I know that some of you may practice Reiki by working with the chi force, but being a Christian I call this same lifeforce the Holy Spirit. So that in the art of healing when attempt a healing through the aura by the passing of hands, what we are doing in essence is to call down that Holy Spirit and allow it to flow through us and thence to the other. This is the same principle behind the laying on of hands only in that case the practitioner is actually touching the body of the recipient.

My friend became a licenced nurse so for her touching the body of another was permissible; whereas I have always been reluctant to use the same technique. Instead I would just pass my hands close to the person's body but without physically touching them. I would rely upon my third eye and my higher self so that in effect I was working from my 6th and 7th chakras. But the desire to heal comes from the 4th chakra the heart chakra. The use of the hand belongs to the 2nd chakra. In reality we are utilizing several chakras at once to perform a healing, always moving energy through us in such a way to flow out of our hands if and when the hands are being used. This is why it is so important to know ourselves and how we function. This is why it is so important for us to be the best channel we can be by performing acts of cleansing, purification and fasting. And as stated earlier meditation is a primary tool to achieve these goals because meditation itself is a way and means to work with each chakra and improve our own energy flow. This does not happen overnight but is instead an ongoing process not only from this lifetime but from our others as well.

It is not enough to be physically healthy we must also improve upon our emotional and mental states as well. It is a spiritual process that we seek, a process of wholeness and balance leading to perfection. We wish to become as close to our ideal (higher self) as we possibly can be. And because there is an exchange of energies we do not want to transfer any negativity that originates in us to the reciprient. To prevent against this sort of thing, you will hear healers say: Dear God let it be your will and not ours. This one prayer alone insures that should we do anything wrong or ask for something that we should not, that always there is an intermediary working in our behalf and on the behalf of the individual in need of a healing. We may make mistakes, for example; but God does not.
