Hi all,

I am new here. I joined because this seems like a very enlightening community. I have been involved in the New Age movement for a long time, and I've researched some stuff about metaphysics, energy work, psychic powers, etc. But the thing that fascinates me the most is the aura. I have been able to see and sense auras since I was young - I didn't know what I was seeing at the time, though! People thought I was making it up when I said I saw colored light around their bodies. Later I developed some empathic abilities.

Well, back to the topic. :D Recently I was on a flight home from visiting family. During the flight, I was reading a book when I suddenly felt something very energetically uncomfortable behind me. It felt like something had entered my aura that wasn't supposed to be there. Not wanting to look too obvious, I pulled out my makeup mirror and saw a woman behind me, and when I focused my auric sight I could also see some sort of grayish tendrils (that's the only way to describe it) branching from her and pointing in my general direction. Suddenly I realized that she was trying to invade my aura to steal energy!

Now, I've heard a little of a phenomenon of "auric vampires" before - people who feel a need to consume the energy of others. But most of them are supposed to find consenting donors first, not random people around them. People debate what the cause is - a disease, a curse, bad karma, genetic, or something else. Occasionally someone is not aware that they are auric vampires, so I decided to assume that and I simply focused my energy into thinking positive things, saying a little prayer, and making a shield around my aura.

But she was quite persistent, and, I noticed - very experienced at what she did. And I could feel a wave of frustration coming from her as she realized that I wasn't going down without a fight. That feeling alone sent shivers down my spine. Finally, I figured I could get a break by going to the restroom mid-flight. Walking down the aisle, I got a good look at her. She was very gaunt and looked drained of color. And the strangest thing was that she had no aura - absolutely none! - just those gray tendrils that she controlled. I've met people with faint auras, but I've never met a person with no aura at all. Maybe she was hiding it. I couldn't tell, though. (Planes seem to do something strange to people's auras - as I looked around, I saw a lot of people with muddy dark auras and energies that were out of balance. I must have been relatively healthy- no wonder she singled me out!)

I got back, feeling a bit more refreshed after recuperating my energies. She hadn't taken any, but sometimes putting up shields can be taxing. Fortunately, she got the message and didn't bother me for the rest of the flight.

Until we got to the airport. We somehow ended up on a very long escalator ride, elevator ride, and walk to the baggage claim together, and out of the blue, decided to chat with me. As we saw each other truly face-to-face for the first time, I noticed her eyes - they were very intense and almost hypnotic, and I felt sort of like a toad being hypnotized by a snake. A little creepy to be around, actually, because it felt as if she knew all about me without having met me. But she behaved very friendly and smiled sweetly. She told me a lot about herself. She's an allopathic doctor (weird choice for someone who saps energies) and she also asked a bit about me. I mentioned that I was an aura-seer and energy-worker, and she barely held back what was probably going to be a very biting remark. As the elevator stopped, she held out her hand and said, "Well, it was nice to meet you, Firestar," and as I shook her hand, I realized I had been caught off-guard. It felt like some energy had been ripped from my body, sort of like static electricity. And while she walked off, savoring the energy she had grabbed from me, I felt a bad headache, so I made sure to get a taxi as soon as I could to take me home.

Fortunately, my home has a lot of crystals that helped me realign myself after that freaky episode. But wow, I still feel a little creeped out that I let myself be taken advantage of like that! I said some prayers and sent positive energy her way in hopes of helping her out.

Hi Firestar,

That was an interesting account and I really appreciate the time it took to write it. Rather than give a direct reply, perhaps the best way for me to respond is to describe an encounter I had many years ago. There were two acutally, but the first was a rather positive experience so I will skip that one and go directly to the negative. Both involved feeling or sensing rather than seeing... well kind of. Let me explain.

Many years ago I was heavily involved in persuing my interest in psychic phenomenon and had attended several parapsychology classes. In one of them, there was a woman that everyone kind of avoided.  There was this sense about her.... Something not tagible... not seen, unless one had the eyes to see. And at the time, I could. She had an orangie firery red aura. And similar to your account, she had these streamers that extended way beyond her physical body. To me they looked like claws... like a crab.

Like your account this woman was also drawn to me... And like you, she needed my energy. And also like you, I was reluctant to supply it to her.

Occult Confusion

I have a little artistic ability, so I attempted to draw what I saw.  Mind you, seeing the aura for me  takes a bit of  work because  I have to  meditate or place myself in a  semi-trance state for  me to be able to see it. But when I did, I would  document it by drawing what I saw, or felt.

In the picture above, entitled, Occult Confusion I  attempted to depict  the glassy-eyed  hypnotic stare this  woman had.  Almost as if,  my intent and purpose whe was able to direct a  great deal of enery  "through" her  eyes.

At the time I did not realise it, but I probably had the same kind of intensity. I may have starred but I seriously doubt  my aura ever looking as  gross as that.  Matter of act , I know it didn't because I was able to see my own aura in a mirror... and mine displays a great deal of electric blues and purples. That, in and of itself is an interesting observation because I probably had what she was missing... what she needed.  Sound familiar?

On one particular lesson, the instructor had us pair off so that we could feel each other's auras. You know the method I am talking about... the one where you do auric passes via the use of your hands. So, one by one, as time permitted we paired off with different people.  When I got to her, I just didn't like standing next to her. But then the darnest thing happened.

As she was passing her hands down my aura (no physical contact),  all of a sudden when she reached the lower portion of my spine I could feel that she was attempting to magnetically pull energy from my body. (It was a sneak attack, so to speak) and against my will. Normally, pranic energy goes into the body via the spine, but never is it taken away in that direction. So I quickly turned around and as I was moving away from her just said, I don't think so.  Now, as I am attempting to look back, I really can't remember if I just thought that, or if I verbally said it to her. In either case, I stopped her.

That wasn't the end of it because I found myself constantly doing battle with her while in a dream state. You see... besides practicing hypnosis, she also knew how to astral project. Thing is... so did I so I was aware of her attempts and was also able to stop her on that plane also.

[Note: It is very late here... (5am) and I am starting to get tired and will return to this post later on during the day].

But briefly... I found that after being near or with her that I had to fast, lest I attact her negativity. If I did not, I would end up with stomach distress. She was an alcholic also and was using the chakra associated with digestion, you see. But the main thing here is... like your experiene there was strong INTENT on her part. In other words, she knew what she was doing---and that's what mades it so negative. For as you say, some people just pull energy and they are not aware. The people we are talking about are doing it through occult means. It's the reverse of healing actually. Best way for me to describe it...  A Magdalene she was not!

What I found fascinating about your account was when you said she had no aura. That does not happen unless someone is either dead or about to die. Gray or fading is illness... but the absence of an aura impending death. Either that, or she was dead.

What an interesting (and scary) experience!

I don't have any computer-scanning capability, so maybe I should describe her aura in more detail... it was more like there was no color to it - like you could see the waves around it (sort of like heat waves on a hot day), but the only "colored" part of her aura were the gray tendrils. I didn't see any particular aura around her eyes, but when I was talking with her, it was the strangest feeling. In the conversation with me, she constantly made eye contact, and it felt as if her bright green eyes were piercing deep into my soul and it was like I temporarily "fell asleep" - I was going through the motions of a conversation, but I didn't really know what was going on. All I could think about were her eyes, and that I wanted to do anything they might have said. And they were "telling" me to keep following her and keep talking. Even now, I think that they were extraordinarily beautiful, so raw with emotion, yet so frightening because they could dominate me like that. Every nuance, every twinkle of her eye was absolutely hypnotic. (I'm not into girls or anything, I'm just pointing out that despite her eerie demeanor, she was strangely charismatic.)

I've heard that some people become negative auric vampires because they think it will make them live longer. I even read an account of a woman whose aunt lived to 100 by sapping the energy of other things, to the point where candles blew out if she walked into a room with them. And if she is an allopathic doctor with a disdain for energy workers, then she might be putting a lot of her patients (as well as herself!) in danger if she keeps sapping their energies. Maybe she feeds off their energies in conjunction with a cocktail of drugs just to keep them coming back? Who knows. I do know that she was a very scary woman and I don't want to meet her again...:(

<<What an interesting (and scary) experience!>>

I was too fascinated by it to be scared. Matter of fact, I ended up inviting her to my  home and actually worked with  her for  several weeks doing chakra cleaning.

<<I don't have any computer-scanning capability, so maybe I should describe her aura in more detail... it was more like there was no color to it - like you could see the waves around it (sort of like heat waves on a hot day), but the only "colored" part of her aura were the gray tendrils.>>

Hummm... Was it a hot summer's day. If it were, you might have been seeing the pranic energy the comes with the sun's heat rays? Might not have been all her. Maybe that had more to do with where you were at spiritually on that particular summer's day. (That is to say, if I am right; and not saying that I am).

<< I didn't see any particular aura around her eyes, but when I was talking with her, it was the strangest feeling. What most people aren't aware of is just how easy it is to become entranced. And we can do it all in the blink of an eye (pardon the pun). All it takes is for us to become fixated or focused on something and we can easily place ourselves into a trance state. And yes, even during the daytime and while seemingly awake.

<<...and that I wanted to do anything they might have said. And they were "telling" me to keep following her and keep talking.>>

She probably works with her yes, therefore they were talking to you. Whether she is aware of what she is doing psychically... or whether she is just very expressive is for you to deside best. Best advise here... devise some sort of distraction for yourself... like remembering to BLINK OFTEN or MOVE your head or body, so that you do not become entranced. In other words, you can maintain control over situations like this so that you are the master and not they.

<<Even now, I think that they were extraordinarily beautiful, so raw with emotion, yet so frightening because they could dominate me like that. Every nuance, every twinkle of her eye was absolutely hypnotic. (I'm not into girls or anything, I'm just pointing out that despite her eerie demeanor, she was strangely charismatic.)>>

Eyes do not and cannot dominate us, in my opinion; and if you felt dominated by her eyes it's probably because *you* were fascinated by them, and because of that fixation (ie. concentration) you were putting yourself into a trance. Inn other words, you were hypnotising yourself by your fied gaze---and that goes to your credit and not hers. But I will agree... some people we meet can be strangely charismatic even if we do not like or approve of them.  I know I was with the woman I described. I wanted to know more. I wanted to know what part of that strange attraction was coming from her and what part beloned to me. I will assume that you were doing the same.

<<I've heard that some people become negative auric vampires because they think it will make them live longer. I even read an account of a woman whose aunt lived to 100 by sapping the energy of other things, to the point where candles blew out if she walked into a room with them.>>

I don't know if I buy into all of that. Although I will agree that there are "psychic vampires: (such an ugly term), and/or that there are many people who can be draining while we are around them; but more often then not, they are in need of a constant resupply of energies. And if their energy is constantly fading I doubt whether that can cause longevity.

As to candles blowing out... that sounds like ectoplasmic spirit energy surrounding that person. In other words, this is a feat I would not attribute to her perse'. More like, the older we get, the more people leave us. Hence most if not all of our relatives and friends are already on the spirit side. Therefore I say, ectoplasmic energy belonging to other dearly departed. Not hers!

<< And if she is an allopathic doctor with a disdain for energy workers, then she might be putting a lot of her patients (as well as herself!) in danger if she keeps sapping their energies. Maybe she feeds off their energies in conjunction with a cocktail of drugs just to keep them coming back? Who knows. I do know that she was a very scary woman and I don't want to meet her again...>>

If she a practicing holistic doctor she would not have a distain for energy workers. She would be fascinated by them and be learning from them. What she might have is an inflated ego, saying: I got a degree and you don't. Still she would be just as  fascinated (ie., hypnotised by you)  as you were with her. Remember.... you are telling her what she needs to know... and on the cheap.  Life is always a two-way street, in my opionin and usually what is doing on with us is also going on with others around us.

As to the danger either to herself or others... I will not comment because I don't know her  and would need to have feedback from her patients. I also will not comment on drugs and for the same reason.

Well, I know she's allopathic because the conversation went something like this:
She: "I'm a doctor."
Me: "Do you use drugs or healing energy?"
She: " I can tell you're probably one of those people who buys into all that "spiritual healing" stuff."
Me: "I'm an energy worker, if that's what you're getting at. So you don't like what auric healing, acupuncture, etc. does for patients? What kind of medicine do you do?"
She: "It's not scientific... in my opinion, of course. I treat the symptoms of an illness. That's my job." She paused thoughtfully and turned away a bit, and for the first time I broke free of the trance. Then she added, "I'm guess what you'd call an allopathic doctor."

And her eyes - it was more like I couldn't stop looking, even though my intuition was telling me, yelling at me to leave. I wanted to break free, but I couldn't. And the strange thing is? Even after several days, I can't get her off my mind. I guess I'm going through what you went through - I feel like I have to see her again, like I have to find out more about her, no matter what. While I walked with her, every millisecond that I blinked, I had a compulsion to look back into her eyes again, even if I was going to trance myself into a dangerous situation. I'm afraid that if we weren't in an airport where people are always moving, she would have taken her time and sucked me dry.

As if I needed more proof that I'm obsessed with her despite her malevolence, she even showed up in a dream once. Well, a version of her.

I was in a desert, flat all around, and all the scenery was flat rocks of varying sizes. There didn't seem to be any life anywhere. As I explored for what felt like forever, I noticed that the temperature was very hot, but comfortable. I hiked up a cliff in order to get my whereabouts, and when I got to the peak, that's where I saw her again. The only differences were a purely malevolent, cruel gaze (and unlike last time, I looked away from her eyes as fast as possible!) and two wings that branched from her back. They were feathery and black, but were so twisted and disfigured that they seemed unfit for any sort of flight.

"It's you!" I said.
"Yes, it is You," she smiled, holding out her hand for me to shake.
I backed up and said, "No offense, but last time you did that, I felt a bit drained. Do you ever feel that way?"
She glowered, but finally said, "I've been... lacking something, at times."
Our conversation continued about various things, most of which were gibberish sentences, as far as I can recall... I but I also remember that she tried every trick in the book in an attempt to touch me (i.e. "Look over there! I see something!", "There's a bug on your shoulder..."). If she made any skin contact, she would steal my energy again. Suddenly, the desert turned into a snow-covered mountain, and we were in the middle of a blizzard. She lunged for my throat and grasped it tightly. I could feel her sucking the energy into herself - it just seemed to disappear as if it went into a black hole. "Wanna know the best way to kill a snake?" she sneered as she pulled out a wicked-looking knife. "Dunk it in sub-zero water." Thankfully, I awoke before the blade connected with my eye socket, but my throat felt sore. I immediately used some crystals on my throat chakra to relieve the pain.

I've been away for a while. Interesting topic. Glad to see a bit more conversation then links finally.

Although there are energy vampires who steal energy knowing what they are doing, I believe for the most part that many do not know which is most likely the case of the allopathic doctor you encountered.

Just a side note... just because the woman is a allopathic physician doesn't necessarily mean that she believes in energy medicine. (it goes back to science and what can be seen and evidenced based medicine)

I have had encounters with people and personally with my own father who was dying of cancer. In his final weeks, I noticed I was so exhausted after visiting my dad in the hospital. I would plan my visits so I had time to rest after each visit. He was fighting to live, and needed that life force from others because his life force was weakening.

I would see him and thought he looked terrible, and my mother would arrive later and he would seem better. He wasn't doing this on purpose, in fact he had no idea that he was.

My dad passed while I was on vacation. Although it was difficult to know I wasn't there, I realized I had to be away because he was holding onto life through me.

As this person was a stranger, you didn't know what was going on in her life. She may have been ill and needed the energy from you. You will never really know. But perhaps know you helped her some along the way. :)

Yow, is this like going back in a time machine!  I may not be welcome here; I was quite rude the last time I posted for which I apologize.  At the time, my only realization was that it was time to stop yapping and coast for a time.  It's been some time.  This night, I flew by and saw Gypsy had posted, so I clocked in with this name which was the only name available to me that I could access.  I don't see any of my posts on Earth Energy-Earth Power OR that Forum, so I guess those are gone.  My intention was to review something specific about earth vortices but matters not.  As with Gypsy, it's nice to see some activity here.  CosZ is still the best watering hole there is, imo.  Social networking is not only weird to me, it's scary when it can activate real wars.  Actually, I haven't been yapping anywhere.  Checked out Facebook, because my grandkids were there, but they were only playing with friends, and they both since deleted their accounts or so I hear.

Someone has taken the PN name.  I don't know how.  I started getting Emails to me from a PN.  The content of the Emails (accessed two of them) was such that I entirely deleted anything to do with PN.

Since I've invited myself here, I'll address the post at hand; interesting topic.  Had a couple of thoughts in addition to what you, Cos, and Gypsy have posted.  One was that I wondered if the original poster KNEW what an allopathic doctor was?  Didn't seem so to me.  In that regard, hoping not to insult anyone, an allopathic doctor is the M.D. kind.  Some M.D. docs are livid against any kind of holistic practice.  We recall that Dr. O. Carl Symington and Dr. Bernie Siegel were literally drummed out of the corps when they introduced imagery for healing of cancer back in the day.  Second was I would be interested for TL to interpret the dream that was posted in detail.  However, I believe TL is busy occupied with work elsewhere at this time.  Third, when I read the original post, my immediate reaction was not to try to help this woman but to call the Archangel Circle of Protection for myself!  My thought was a kind of "git thee behind me satan!"  Just my personal opine.

Gypsy, you win the award for getting to LV when TJ (Tom Jones) was performing.  He is currently in various places in Europe, and the word is he won't be returning to the MGM Grand.  My son has moved on to bigger and better places still within MGM Resorts but no longer at the MGM Grand.

I'm rather excited that Bob Dylan will be in LV one night in July at the Palms, and I surely intend to see him if I can.  He won't be touring much longer or one wonders how he can stand the rigors of world touring every day of the year almost now that he is into his 70th year; difficult to grok how that's possible.

OK will let it go with this.  Just visiting here has opened the flood gates of thoughts in my mind, e.g. the spiritual reason possibly for this violent weather.  It's a cruel time.  I've been isolating and not talking with anyone for a good while.  Writing, yes.  Still with the wolves.

All Best to CosZ residents.

Ayet (which simply is a young she-Siberian Husky kinda' dog in Navajo)

WB  Ayet (aka PN) Been an interesting weekend of enlightenment. Perhaps the reason I am home with a broken toe. Been seeing 11:11, 1:11, 2:22, 3:33 all weekend even within a 24 hour period seeing all the ones (1's) . Perhaps some awakening going on to. Time will tell.

Tom Jones does his concerts in the US every other year. I would love to see him again. Heard Paul McCartney is doing a concert at the MGM.

Travel took me to Virginia this year. The Shenandoah valley. Spent time touring the area, Caverns, museums, antiques, battlefields, Foamhenge (yes, a full scale replica in foam of Stonehenge)... rather magical there. I met Merlin while I was there.

Saw Luray Caverns which were dead in my opinion. The cavern was warm,  and caves are 55 degrees. Heard they paved a parking lot over the opening(s). Its not breathing anymore. Also went to Natural Bridge and caverns, and Shenandoah caverns. I wanted to go to crystal cavern which was one that Jean Dixon would go to but it was closed. I had been there before and its very energetic and really gives the spirit a good cleansing.

Still a bit tired, my dreams seemed to blend with someone tonight and they woke me up feeling pushed out of bed. Confusing, I was tire and couldn't get back to sleep.

Just finished reading A Discovery of Witches. Great book and a very long one at that. But it was very historical too. I read tonight it will be a trilogy. I am ready for book 2 but that could be a while since book one just come out in February.  Love my nook.

Funny you should drop by Ayet... I was trying to email you yesterday.

You are still PN....
Don't how or why you are getting in emals from your usename, unless it is some sort of email spammer/hacker....

Go into the PREFERENCES TAB....
Check your preferences.... on email and PM messages, etc
And uncheck the box that list your email address....
That what spammers and trollers look for.
Just give your email address to your friends...
But never list it....

My condolences to you and yours, Gypsy. Coping with death and dying is never an easy thing.

Thank you for your kind concern, aidanskhin.  I've been a resident of CS since the outset.  At that particular time which was a while ago now, I could have been a lot more gracious in my posting.  So, I took myself on a needed break.  All is well.  Cosmeta and I have been good friends for several years.  At times, we have opposed each other in spiritual discussion, but that's what this website is about.

Appreciate your post.
