I have read a number of books about the chakra's and the colours associated with them etc. I have really felt connected to the colours and have spent many an hour surrounding myself in certain colours, having colour baths, trying to help heal myself of certain things.
Anyways I really love the red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet colours together, I have always really wanted to get a band tattoo of these rainbow colours around my upper arm, I have made and bought beautiful necklaces with all the colours in a row, heck I would walk around like Rainbow-Bright if I could. Problem is.. well the rainbow has been adopted by the gay and is a very well known symbol for announcing your gay and your proud. Yes the rainbow is big enough for us all to share but I am reluctant in sporting around the symbol because I hate to send out the wrong message about myself... ( I am married and have kids etc)
I love the gay.. please don't misunderstand me.. hell even I have *those* thoughts once in a while I just wish they had a different symbol so I could go totally crazy with the rainbows and not be misunderstood
I just love the topic of chakra's and colours

LunaGirl...
Rainbow-Bright---Now there's an interesting username if ever I saw one. Years ago I went out and spent scads of dollars on pure glass crystals. I used to hang them in front of one particular window that got lots of sunshine. I could sit for hours and end and just observer the rainbow patterns on both ceiling and walls. But then through the years our tree that sits in front of our home has since grown and has blocked the rays of the sun. If it were up to me, I would cut the tree down, but don't think that would sit well with my husband, so the crystals came down instead.
I have also tried taking different colored glass jars, placing ordinary water in each, putting them out in sunlight just to see the different effects. And although subtle they were there. Even the taste of the water was different somehow.
Mystic had a good idea when she suggestion you create your own necklace.
I am also glad you like this topic of chakras and colors. You have renewed my interest also. Thank you. ~smile.

I guess I didn't watch cartoons and kiddy shows in the 80's.
Guess I am much older than that :o).

hey cool idea about hanging crystals or placing coloured glass in front of the window!! Bummer that you don't have a bright window . I don't have any ledges in front of my windows to place glass jars but you gave me a grand idea.. I am going to buy strips of sheer colours all 7 rainbow colours and sew them together and hang them from my bright bedroom window. Of course I am quite far north and don't get a lot of sun this time of year.. but I will come spring!
You should hang the crystals in your car perhaps and feel its benefits while you drive!
Lately I have really been soaking up colours as much as possible, I have been enjoying my colour baths and all the other little treats I have been doing for my aura.
Hope your thriving Cos, bless you

Go to an art store and see if you can get some colored acetate sheets of plastic. You can try using them on glass jars and windows. I even experimented once with placing the primary colors over the lens of search lights or a projector to see if I could add or subtract the various colors of the rainbow. They also sell different colored light bulbs me thinks. I kind of like the soft pink or blue ones. Nice soft music... a glass of wine, ... and the right person sitting along side of you. Now if that aint heaven. :o).
As to your suggestion about placing crystals in a car... no way ... I can even get pulled out just by looking into my rear and side veiw mirrors. Mirrors have that effect on me.... and with driving one needs to be well grounded. So best I leave my crystals at home. ~smile.
Basically to understand the aura, I think it valuable to try to think in terms of color. To associate things with emotions and then to assign a color to it. Shoot for the adjectives or descriptive words. An orange is an orange for a reason... then again, so is a blueberry.

The only thing with that is when the sun hits them they cause reflections for the other drivers. That can be dangerous. Nothing worse than that refection of a crystal hanging on a mirror hitting your eyes while driving. Nice idea if it doesn't interfere with driving.

Good point, Mystic. Depending upon the shape of the crystal, intense heat can a) cause them to explode; and b) can cause fires. That's because they will either retain and absorb heat or reflect it. I know for a fact, that one should never put a pure crystal ball by open sunlight for that reason.

Well, on that idea, one day my parents were smelling something burning like wood in the house. After searching in this one room where the mild smell was, it turned out to be a magnifying glass that my dad had sitting in a cup with pens, pencils and other things on a coffee table. Turns out the afternoon sun, hit it just right and it burned a spot in the wood of the couch. After that it was kept out of the view of the sun.

Not good. Not good at all. Good thing someone was home at the time. I can remember when we were kids trying different ways to start a fire. We had tried rubbing sticks together... which took a very long time; using flint, which was difficult to do... but a magnifying glass could produce a fire within 2 minutes.
Most kids sold lemon aid... but a few of us got together, built a stand from the left over wooden crates refrigerators were shipped in... made us a lemon aid stand... And then we sold baked potatoes with our lemon aid. Ever try a charcoal black baked potato? LOL.

Back as promised. I am somewhat intrigued by the statement above. Do you think you could explain further what you mean by that last portion, (i.e.) "doing for my aura." In what sense do you mean that? Which portion of the aura are you referring to?
And yes, I am doing well thank you...
And yourself..... How are you this fine Sunday morning.
