I thought it might be good to have a thread for any interesting experiences that taught you something about the aura, so here it is. I'll start...
I was at an ARE Conference (Edgar Cayce's Organization) on the first night and people were still arriving and checking in. Since it was such a balmy night I went outside onto the front patio. There were no outside lights so it was pretty dark out there. I got talking to a couple of people who had the same idea. It was kind of funny talking to strangers in the dark who I'd just met and we did laugh about this.
While we were standing there we could see people driving in and parking in the parking lot. We could see their silhouettes because of the dim lights in the parking lot and here their feet crunching on the stones as they approached the doors.
One group came toward us and a woman's voice said, "What interesting auras!"
This event has always stayed with me. It had never occurred to me that people who can see auras would be able to see them in the dark. I remember thinking what a handy thing it would be to have; no one would ever be able to sneak up to you in the dark. And I'm sure if someone did approach you, and you were experienced at it their aura would tell you if they were a threat or not.
Part of me wanted to know what she saw in my aura but they were checking in and I did not press her for information. Alas I hadn't seen her face so I couldn't look for her later. But, in retrospect, I think I got what I was supposed to get from the experience anyway.

Watcher...
<<It had never occurred to me that people who can see auras would be able to see them in the dark. >>
I've met a few people who claim to see auras with their eyes closed. For example, while in a group meditation or while entranced. Others say they see better on a full moon or with candle light. Me---(and when I used to see them), tend to see better in bright sunlight or in a well lite room if I am indoors.
The interesting fact you are alluding to, if I can interject here, is that the seeing is not really done with the human eyes... So that would account for the probability that the seeing is done via second sight or through the use of the Third Eye.
Interesting post, Watcher.
Thank you.
It would be nice to hear what others have to say on the matter.

The most interesting aura experience I had was at my grandmothers funeral. It was a hot august day, at a small catholic chapel. Not being catholic I wasn't paying much attention to the service.
I began to notice to 2 spirit figures standing behind the altar. A large bible was on the altar open and the breeze from the door being open was blowing the pages. I was focused on trying to communicate with them. I was trying to get them to turn the page but one of them put their hand down and stopped the pages from turning even though there was still a breeze blowing.
Then I noticed the priest. He aura was so magnificent. He was surround with golden light. Something I will never forget. I just stared in awe. It completely surrounded his body from head to toe.
I lost that sight when I noticed my son (about 7 yrs old) sitting next to me very focused on something. He was holding up his hands in a way that created a triangle with his pointer fingers touching and his thumbs touching. I asked him what he was doing. He said he was trying to move the coffin like Merlin did in the movie which he had been watching over and over. Needless to say that ended swiftly. With an explanation not to harm things when attempting to do things like that. Thankfully that coffin didn't roll out the door... LOL

Great story, Mystic!
Kids in church can be a great thing to watch.
Your story reminds me of an experience I had in a church about five years ago. I was going to this Spiritualist church to check it out for about 6 months. At this church you could come fifteen minutes ahead of time if you wanted healing. They would place chairs up front and people would take turns sitting on the chairs for a healing. The healers were people from the congregation who felt a calling for this. It looked very much like Therapeutic Touch, most healers saying a silent prayer at the beginning and taking your hands and speaking a prayer at the end. So this church was obviously into healing.
Therough the time that I was going there the miniter became ill with cancer. She deteriorated to the point where she couldn't continue giving sermons so various ministers from the motherchurch in Toronto and Hamilton came to do the sermon. Then they trained and ordained a local man.
On this particular night some representatives of the Motherchurch were still attending. This was a Wednesday night service and it didn't usually get as many people as they would on Sunday's. Ther were ten to twelve people there. The original minister came that night and she was in really bad shape. You could tell she was in pain and she was on a portable respirator.
Near the end of the service the new minister announced that at the end of the service they were going to have a special healing-circle for this minister and anyone from the congregation that wanted to was welcome to participate. We joined in a circle around her, she was still in the middle on a chair and we were asked to pray silently for her. They were times when I had my eyes closed and times when I had them open. This went on for ten or fifteen minutes. Somewhere near the end, I saw in my mind's eye the most pure white beings of light coming down and going up a light beaming down from heaven, over the woman's head. I looked at the other people there to see if any of them had noticed. Most had their eyes closed and any that didn't, were looking down or straight ahead. I got the message, "Someone's lack of faith is keeping the healing from taking place."
I went through overwhelming feelings of sadness and anger. I just about said something; I just about told them off. If it was God's Will I would have done it. But it was not. I did relate it to the people I had come with on the way home in the car and asked them if they had noticed anything.

Probably her own lack of faith kept her from accepting the healing.
