The Song of Mark

A Preface to the Recollections of Mark

I was a stranger, and you took me into your heart;
I was hungry, and you supplied me with wine and bread;
I was incarcerated, and you came to my defense;
I was thirsty, and you gave me water to drink;
I was dying, and you saved me;
I was naked, and you covered me.

And in all my afflictions,
I looked for one to contend together with me,
And I found but one---my friend Mark.

And then I,
The restorer of his testimony,
Heard the man who was clothed in white linen,
And had sworn by him that liveth forever.

And I believed him.
(Paraphrased from, Matt 25:34-40)
