Astral Projection and the Astral Planes
(Copyright Protected, ©2008 by Cosmeta)

The study of the astral plane and/or our ability to Astral Projection are both much misunderstood terms. There is a lot of fear attached to the concept of Astral Projection because many are confusing the term with the idea of having a near death experience. Yet the two terms are not the same. So let's shed some light on a misunderstood concept.

What is Astral Projection

One need not die or come close to death in order to astral project. In fact, most of us astral project each and every time we go to sleep. And we do it though our Dream Body, yet another term for the Astral Body Vehicle. Still another term for the Astral Body is our Desire Body. And what do many of us desire while we are asleep? Well, for each person that answer is going to be different. Some may desire to revisit the day past while others may desire to connect with loved ones who have already crossed over. Still others want to connect with God or to the divine natures. All these are possible through the projection of the Astral Body. Now, some of this is done while we sleep---yes, but there are other ways to achieve an Astral Projection. It can be done through prayer or meditation. Prayer is when we petition God or ask our Higher Self for favors; and that very same God and/or Higher Self, hearing our call, will resond and even take us there. Meditation on the other hand, is when we get quiet within ourselves by making ourselves receptive; and then, as if by magic we are transported to another plane of existence. Usually we are taken where we need to be. The same can be said of our dreams because very often as we drift off to sleep we float to another plane of existence, another reality. We float in and out of our bodies as easily as we walk in and out of a room through an open doorway. So that Astral Projection is all that easy and all that complex. We go from one dimension into another and travel on the astral plane through what Easterns call the Astral Body and what Christians call their Soul. And if we have a soul, then there is nothing to fear. For always God is with us. Astral Projection is not the same as having a near death experience, and the distinction between the two needs to be drawn.
