Privacy Statement:
We know your privacy is important to you and Cosmeta.com, it's owners and administrators are committed to protecting your information.
Statistical Information:
As part of our normal web site maintance, general statistical data is available to us regarding overal traffic, navigation, site usage, referrals, and hits per page, etc.; but rest assured, none of your personal information is ever collected by us though our statistical maintainance proceedures.
Forum and Chat Information:
When you become a Registered Member of our Forum or Chat, a certain but limited amount of information is collected with regard to these two programs. Such information would include: your IP Address, your Username, and your Email Address as well as the date of registration. Your password is specially encrypted and is not available to cosmeta.com nor is it available to any administrator. Since our forums require a login, the Members Area is not open to the public. The bulletin board itself is, however, and anyone passing by will be able to see your username, your posted message (should you leave one) as well as seeing your avatar image. They might even have access to your email address if you check off the box that says, display my email address. But by default this box is set for do not show my email address.
General Maintainance:
Also, as a normal course of action, a complete backup is made daily to the following three programs: 1). Link Exchange Program; 2). Forum Program; 3). Chat Program. You will please to understand, this is a normal proceedure meant to protect the data should our Server fail. And since I am also the web designer, I also have at my disposal a complete backup of my entire website.
Forum and Chat Maintainance:
Both Forum and Chat are monitored areas and nothing you say or type in is ever private. In other words, the administrator does have the capacity to view, modify, edit, move, or delete, any post, link, or image, that does not comply with our general guidelines for posting. The major difference between Forum and Chat is this: Search Engines can access any Forum that is open to the public but cannot access the Chat area itself. We also have the right to ban or remove a member from our database.
Affiliate Information:
Cosmeta.com is a member of several Affliate Programs. When you click on any banner, image or textual link you will be taken to another web site. While there, please look for their own privacy statement.
Legal Information:
The only exception to any of the above Privacy Statments, would be in the case of any legal action taken against this web site or its owner(s), administrator(s) on account of any crimminal or illegal activities committed by any of our Membership; including but not limited to any copyright infringement (see the below) made by any member who is in violation of same. In other words, if required by law, Cosmeta.com, its owner(s), and administrator(s) will devuldge the neccessary information if required by federal, state and local governmental agencies or any agency that has legal dominion over the Internet; and/or will take the neccessary and appropriate action to ensure that we do not get ensarled in your own wrongdoing.
Copyright Information:
In a general sense, our web site is a distributor of spiritual, metaphycial, and esoteric information but we are not publishers or editors. Our Forums are public forums, but we have very limited control over what you post. We may own the forum yet we do not own your words. Once posted (i.e. published) they are still your words and not ours. You own them and are therefore legally responsible for them and not us. So please be aware of your federal, state and local governmental laws regarding the publication of any written or visual materials---including graphical images; etc. Put simply, obey copyright laws. Having said that, Cosmeta.com, its owners and administrator(s) will promptly remove any post that does not comply with those laws. We shall not be held legally responsible, however; and no action shall be taken agaist us with regard to copyright enfringements.
